I have found FreeBSD to be an excellent platform. I think it's as capable as Linux (it has some advantages and some shortcomings in comparison but is truly equal). It's still just fine for the same server tasks it's always been useful for. And you can run AS (and friends) and the same HW you've been using. I'm afraid I just don't understand why people have to try and make unfounded and unreasonable technical arguments when they make decisions based on their opinions and feelings and prejudices. If you want to run FreeBSD because you don't like what RH (or any other Linux distro) is doing just say so and don't make up excuses. -- Farewell neighbor.
