Yes, it's alright for those us us that know our way around the system, but, IMHO, a whopping great hole in a RedHat distro. that otherwise goes out of its way to help the novice Linux user.Checking the psyche-list as well as the hints in Tom Georgoulias message got me going. But I am left with the mystery how anyone would guess to change the name of tbe lock file and change ifup to /sbin/ifup, etc? Thanks for the responses.
You really /can't/ tell someone who just been spoon-fed through an ISP creation wizard to then open a shell and type '/sbin/ifup pppN' to dialup!
