Hi. I have Red Hat 8.0 running here and the rpm -q command tells me that
ethereal is installed on the system. But when I try to launch it, I
receive an error message.

Does someone experienced something similar?? How can I solve this??

If you want to use the graphical version you need to install the ethereal-gnome, otherwise only tetheral is available.

The reason for this split is not to require all kinds of X11 and gtk libraries for a simple network analyzer on server installations.
