1) if your hda is still attached then simply boot from hda in single user or your favourite run level. After that run commnad: # grub-install /dev/hdb This will install grub on MBR of hdb but you must have "/" root partition and /boot driectory on hdb. 2) if you have removed hda and have 7.2 cd's then boot from 7.2 cd's. Run installation program, choose "upgrade" install and select "customize package to be installed" , in packages list choose "kernel or kernels", and in boot record setting choose "create new boot record" and place that boot record on "hdb" MBR. Complete the installation and reboot and enjoy. Note: You must have to choose at least one kernel to install grub on MBR of hdb. Another thing you will get grub but it will boot be default with 7.2 kernel. Boot with 7.2 kernel then modify /etc/grub.conf to boot from rh9 kernel.
