Re: boot hdb?

1) if your hda is still attached then simply boot from
hda in single user or your favourite run level. After
that run commnad:

# grub-install /dev/hdb

This will install grub on MBR of hdb but you must have
"/" root partition and /boot driectory on hdb.

2) if you have removed hda and have 7.2 cd's then boot
from 7.2 cd's. Run installation program, choose
"upgrade" install and select "customize package to be
installed" , in packages list choose "kernel or
kernels", and in boot record setting choose "create
new boot record" and place that boot record on "hdb"
MBR.
Complete the installation and reboot and enjoy.

Note: You must have to choose at least one kernel to
install grub on MBR of hdb. Another thing you will get
grub but it will boot be default with 7.2 kernel. Boot
with 7.2 kernel then modify /etc/grub.conf to boot
from rh9 kernel.
