RE: Wacom Bamboo

I had to throw my wacom tablet away because it don’t work any more. I now have a USB mouse that I had before my tablet so I cannot use the pen. The software I use has changed too. I use a cad package for my technical drawing. I don’t use an art package but I might if I can buy another pen.

 

I have returned from Hungary. Things are bad there.

Yeah I have never owned a bamboo only the professional models which all have replaceable cords.  So when Wacom wants $30 for it its still a good price. Probably not so with bamboo but they will always sell you a cord even if its not listed.  you just have to call them.

I really don't think it is a cable as the tablet power light is lit but it doesn't function or show up on system report.  My Bamboo has a non replaceable cable; it is molded right into the device.  And it has now become moot since I just ordered a new tablet.  The prices are not that steep anymore.  Thanks for all the help though.

If that one fails, please try a new cable. On my Bamboo at least, it's just a mobile 'phone USB cable, which are readily available (at least here in Oz). A bit of quick work with a file or sharp knife to trim off excess plastic, will allow wider plug mouldings to attach into the recessed socket on my model 470.

My tablet is a 460 so you have a newer model.  I have downloaded all new drivers and software and still no go.

I have a Wacom Bamboo "Pen and Touch" small, model CTH-470/K, with pen and multi-touch, and it works happily with driver v5.3.3-3 on OSX Mavericks v10.9.4.

The same driver is also good for OSX 10.6.8.
The driver on the above page may very well get you going.

My (now rather old) Wacom Intuos 3, model PTZ-930, with pen only, works with driver v6.3.8-2 on OSX Mavericks v10.9.4.
