Its sort of a misnomer. Its the first airplane to use the call sign. Its not the first full time presidential aircraft. Its the 3rd. The first 2 presidential air planse are in museums though. There has never been an aircraft named Air force one. The two today are Sam 28000 and Sam 29000. I used to watch them take off and land at Boeing field in the mid 1980s. Down at the south end where my father worked on AWACS and other imaging systems.
