Thanks to the contributors. Don Roberts - Canyon de Chelly I wonder if the original inhabitants saw this or if only their absence and decay causes the reference to a face. Maintaining shadow detail with the glaring sunlight of that region is difficult. Rene M Hales - Seedlings Before and After in the same image, but the shadows on the *before* imply man's hand on the land. The magnificence of *after* is glowing. Dan Mitchell - Market Place Enjoy the juxtaposition of bowed backs implying slow with the Fast Food sign. The technological aspects of the photo are unnecessary but fascinating to the point I want to learn more. Christopher Strevens - Happy but frightened The eyes are the strong point in this capture. For me, their expression belies the gesture of drinking. The glow coming through the white hair adds to the comments, while the drip of drink says so much about the state of aging. Alberto Tirado - Slow Night at the Fire Station While a complete figure would have been nice (foot on the figure to ground it), the perspective of the image is strong. Paint of the walls, lines of ceiling, lights all *point* to the engine front. Mark Harris - Samantha Lightpainted Cropping of the figure seems just right. The dark areas mold the figure, while the light areas (with tattoos and adornments) balance the tones. Andrew Davidhazy - Diamond in the rough An image that is extremely balanced with color and frame edges. The tension of the incomplete white "diamond" works, as the irregular blue blotch plays off the geometric yellow line. Belinda
