I've often thought that "new" - identified as
amateur - photographers have the most imaginative and exciting photographs in
the fair. I haven't paid attention to the ages of those who enter the
images, though. Youth may have something to do with it.
Some of my own favorite photographs that I've taken
were shot long before I knew what an f stop was.
I think it has something to do with the newness and
excitement of photography when one is just beginning - and also the naiveté to
the "rules."
