with work now on display at: http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery.html include:

                  Valery Firsov - Potter

You must be tall, Valery. All your photos seem to be looking downward! This is certainly an interesting point of view, but I think it would be more effective if your angle were less steep, and you were looking over the potter's shoulder from down somewhat lower behind his back. Keeping his face in focus, so the attention is to the potter, and not the process, seems very interesting conceptually to me, but the current version of the image seems to be about a chin more than about a potter.

Alan Zinn - Midway panorama, Michigan

Well, there's always an outside-the-box demand for this shot, and this one's pretty successful although it is unbalanced, as has already been mentioned, and to go the whole distance, at least one of the rides needs to be clearly in motion/blur. But definitely fun!

                  Michael Hughes - Basque Dancers

I wish I could tell they were dancing, and not just celebrating something with sparklers. I definitely like the angle - if the processing man in the center had just one decisive foot in the air or were tipped at an unusual angle, or whirling, or stepping low or jumping, the story might have been more effectively told.

                  Linda Buttstead - TRUE LOVE

Very sweet. She looks like a caring woman.

                  Marilyn Dalrymple

Interesting. Which filters did you use to get that effect, and were the original colors so intense or did you have to fiddle with them?
