Steve, I don't think that _you_ were being "attacked" for spamming the list. I think the spam referred to the call for entries at $60 - you have nothing to fear! BTW, any topic of general photo interest is welcome on PhotoForum! It does seem it is "easier" to talk about hardware than about esthetics so that in my opinion is that we see little discourse about content and much about tools. But, that is just the way it is.
