'film' format is never specified, so pointing out that digital (often 35mm format or less) is limited by size whereas film is not, is a very clear way of displaying a serious difference between the two media. This format issue was not so heavily debated pre digital, as any clot knew 35mm was small format and 8x10 was large ;-) k
