I'm unlikely to shoot raw in that situation. (Actual situations in
front of me sometimes look different form situations described in a
mailing list, so I'm leaving some wiggle-room.)

Raw is only beneficial if you have/take the time to hand-optimize each
picture, and the schedule for this sounds like that's not in the
cards.
