I have noticed that you´re not one who gives praise lightly, also that you are an excellent image-maker yourself. Therefore, praise from you is worth all the more when received.
Thank you very much for your kind comments, and for taking the time!
In answer to a few implied questions: that blue bag actually irritated me when taking the photo. Only on the screen did I see its value as a colour counterpoint. Today most Danish bikes are quite modern ones; the old, traditional black ones are almost gone. Biking is still an important means of transportation in Copenhagen, not just an exercise (there are no hills whatsoever in the whole city, except for a few bridge approaches).
The shot is both straightened and "de-keystoned" a little in PS (not even in Copenhagen can one always place oneself exactly where the image would demand). When doing so, I always do it free-hand (I´m aware there is a measuring tool), but I wouldn´t really call it a "creative decision" if I didn´t get it exactly in plumb; I just stopped when it looked good to me...
Again, thank you!

In some respects this is one of the best images I have seen in the gallery over the years.
I say "some" because there are so so many different ways of looking at / reading an image and a similar number of reasons for taking this one.
This shot is beautifully (almost mathematically) composed. Lighting is fabulous - I love the colours. Technically the histograms use the full RGB palette ;o)
I could imagine this as a pastel-print on my wall. I could imagine it in a magazine or travel brochure.
Looking beyond those, there are elements that speak real life instead of bog-standard stock photo. The old street contrasting with the modern bike (complete with "English" logo) . Surely for a commissioned shot they would want an old-fashioned sit-up-and-beg style bike frame ? The blue plastic bag on the seat? It's a fortunate colour contrast for the orange (or maybe Per added it to fill up the Blue histogram ;o).
Very good shot Per, well Done!
Bob
PS: the only nit ... or was it a creative decision, wouldbe a 0.5 degree anti-clockwise rotation about the level ;o)
