Jeff Spirer http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery/spirer.html What can I say about this? Well, it's characteristically "Jeff". Everything is shown the way the author wanted it to be. Nothing about it structurally/technically warrants comment. It has a faux (?) grainy look that seems to enhance the seediness of the shot: a glimpse into a world I've only ever seen in TV cop shows ;o) "How was it taken" comes to mind? Concealed camera? Paid model? I get the feeling that openly using a camera without permission would not go down well with the staff or customers in the sort of joint this seems to portray. Trevor Cunningham http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery/cunningham.html I I hadn't read the description/title I would have thought this was a faded cave painting of an animal (cropped poodle - pom pom on head, tail raised?) jumping to the left on the wall of a cave. Good shot, thanks for sharing. To add to my interest next time don't tell me so much about it till half way through the week. I like to just ponder abstracts and try to decipher them myself. D.L. Shipman http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery/shipman.html My intitial suspicion was that the fluorescent green colour was some sort of digital prank - looking on the web these birds really do show that colour! http://www.birdsasart.com/bn68.htm The shot itself? A pleasant enough record / snapshot but it lacks any real star quality - on bird partially eclipsed directly above the other. The background too is a little too sharp and the brown object (?) through the trees appears the wrong colour to be natural (I may well be wrong). OK, it is nice, but with the images of birds Jim has been submitting lately it has very strong competition. Alberto Tirado http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery/tirado.html Yea, right! OK, it's sort of Jeff-like without the impact. It's hazy, voyeuristic almost (is that a snog going on in the background?) but really, other than curiosity value I'm not sure it holds my attention for long. What does the title mean? What does the hazy text say in the photo? Jim Davis http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery/davis.html Having said Jim has been setting high standards, this one is a real dog ;o) Sorry Jim, the lighting is awful. Would fill flash have brought some life to Lambert? Do I recognise those posts in the water? (gull shots). The reflections in the lake are well rendered, but I would snip off the very top where (top right) a dark reflection just intrudes. Oh, the twig across Lambert's leg ... Emily L. Ferguson http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery/ferguson.html I guess you had to be there? I've always been disappointed with my rainbows too: they look s vibrant to the eye yet so pale in the photo. The moody storm clouds contrasting with the lit foreground add some interest but the foreground is just not interesting enough to hold it together.
