Would it still be worth submitting a bug report? or should I wait until
after the 2008 final release (a bit confused here, as this suggests the
N810 shipped with a beta OS that has already been updated once, but
flashing isn't difficult...)

That may have been how I found the API page originally :)  I will take a
look at the code there.  Thanks again.
