It shouldn't void the warranty because it doesn't physically/permanently damage the device. I can reflash to factory conditions and it works as advertised again. I could see Nokia refusing to help (ie phone support) if I've customized the software too much, but I would also expect them to point me to the Windows flasher "upgrade" utility and tell me to update and see if the issue goes away.
