You'd be willing to go figure out how to do it, and even to write a pile of code to add it, if it goes into the Linux kernel. What you're not willing to do is spend the much less effort it'd take to help me understand what to do so that a platform-independent solution, which'd also benefit Linux users, can be implemented.
