Chris, Thanks for the info on yahoo finance. This should be a much more straightforward approach to getting the info. Did you know that emacs has a very nice python mode for developing code. You can run your code and view the results in a second window. The lynx -dump approach can also be used but requires some work to filter the resulting html output. And, as we know, it will break once the webmaster decides to reformat the page. Chris
