thanks man, i did know that just did not type correctly in the message. no then here is what i have found out if i use the windows net send command th e message gets transmited when i do smbclient -M hostname i get this session request failed i have verified that the messenger service is started built a lmhosts file just incase its a problem, according to smbclient docs thats what it reads first? anyhow built that, stilll no go. i wish i had a log of some kind to look at but no details are around in either log.nmbd or log.smbd and i did a search through out the entire system for a log.smbclient.
