Sorry for the delay.. I totally missed this response (I have this list
+ the mythtv mailing list all into one filter, so I guess I just
missed it in all the traffic).

I rebuilt that linux box with Ubuntu 5.10.. Knoppmyth was a but flakey
for me.  I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.16.16,  I also grabbed the
linux-dvb mercurial stuff.   Now, I'll add your patch and give it a
try tonight.

I tried with and without the patch, and I'm not getting as much as
with the previous kernel..

Doing a scan, with the dvb-apps scan utility, I get the following.
(the first channel isn't active, the second is.   The status shows
more "0x01", but still fails").
