The genpix board I'm using supposedly can support DSS as well (The
broadcom chip it uses supposedly supports it).  I can set it to 'DSS'
mode, but don't know what it would take to actually get it to start
transmitting data.  As i don't have an available stream, I can't
really comment further.

As far as the ongoing DVB-S2 conversation goes, I can easily adapt to
any solution which is implemented.  I'm not sure I followed the entire
conversation about using FE_SET_FRONTEND_EX, and why it is preferable
to modifying dvb_frontend_parameters directly.  I'm willing to sit on
the fence until a solution is decided on.
