Can you please tell us which parameter you changed before it started
working?
Is it the password?
About your problem of reconnecting.
There are so many mails with you, where you changed so many things in
both directions, that it is not possible for me to understand how you work.
Could you please give us a list of what you do, starting from boot until
having a connection, stopping the connection, and not being able to
reconnect?
About setting a proxy in Firefox: who told you that you need a proxy,
and what the address of the proxy is?
When you will be connected, can you please, in a window which is not
running any program, give the command
dig linmodems.technion.ac.il
It will write a lot of things. Please just loook if you see:

phep2.technion.ac.il. 3600 IN A 132.68.73.235
and just tell us if you see 132.68.73.235
This test will say if Firfox fails to navigate because of a bad proxy
setting or because of "the DNS problem" explained as number 20 in the
Troubleshooting section at http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/post-install.html
