 Unloading the other (possibly conflicting modules) shouldn't be taken
to the extreme. For example, the agrmodem and agrserial modules
depend on the snd_hda_intel modules, and maybe other
audio chip -related modules. For example, on my system:

$ lsmod | grep snd

snd_hda_codec_realtek   199232  1
snd_hda_intel          25832  2
snd_hda_codec          64508  3 agrmodem,snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_intel
snd_pcm_oss            25600  0
snd_pcm                73664  3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_pcm_oss
snd_seq_midi            6272  0
snd_rawmidi            21152  1 snd_seq_midi
snd_seq_midi_event      6972  1 snd_seq_midi
snd_seq                48304  2 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_timer              20612  2 snd_pcm,snd_seq
snd_seq_device          7016  3 snd_seq_midi,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq
snd                    56484  14 agrmodem,snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_pcm_oss,snd_pcm,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq,snd_timer,snd_seq_device
soundcore               7200  1 snd
snd_page_alloc          8932  2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm
