Sounds like resource conflicts, which should be minimized.
 Browse http://linmodems.technion.ac.il and  download scanModem.gz . Within a Linux partition    gunzip scanModem.gz To make it executable:    chmod +x scanModem Run diagnositics with:    ./scanModemOnly the ouput ModemData.txt should be sent to Discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Also do$ dmesg >> patte.txt$ lsmod >> patte.txt$ lsmod >> patte.txtand send the patte.txt  too.
