Mandrake, yes, because very close to RedHat (rpm system, respect of basic Linux). Indeed for a while I had installed a Mandrake system with an internal SmartLink modem on an old dead PC. Never Debian Sarge Etch or whatever, and I do not have any SmartLink modem now.
Sorry - Jacques

Last year I managed to properly configure Debian Sarge for my modem:

. I'm trying now with Debian Etch.

Rodolfo,

PLEASE understand that I have NO experience with Debian and no such modem. Now
please tell me what you expect from me ...

With your help we managed to make such modem work already with Mandrake 9.1,
Mandrake 10.1 and Debian Sarge. I expected we managed as well with Debian
Etch.
