I worked that error message out by installing linux-headers-2.6.18-4-686 and putting in slmodem's Makefile the line: KERNEL_DIR:=/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-4-686 . This way slmodem seems to have installed. But now the problem is that /dev/ttySL0 is not present in my system. Please help! Thanks Rodolfo
