Different from git services, there is no 362.8739 kg Gorilla here, but some people seem to like Slack.
Others use Telegram groups (which would be my personal choice at this point).

This is probably less of a WG decision than within author teams, open-source teams etc., but a little bit more of convergence would help.

(XMPP usage during WG meetings is less of a problem, because that can be channeled through meetecho — people increasingly have trouble joining the rooms without that.)
