For WG chairs, IAB, etc., (who are acting in their capacity), I agree. Reasonable. Not clear it is necessary, but whatever.

For attendees, it seems to seek an expectation of privacy in a venue that is open to the public. Again, I wouldn’t be surprised of the legal system hasn’t already decided that this is not a right (and cannot be enforced).
