I do like returning to the same, familiar city, at least up to about five times,
after which I agree it starts to pall.

But please, never Canada.  The availability of flights from Europe is poor
(compared to USA), travel costs are high and the visa arrangements are much
worse than the USA even with, or perhaps because of, historical links.

In fact, from western Europe, I see the USA as cheaper and easier to get to than
say Vienna or Maastricht (look back at all those posts about which train to
catch, which country to arrive in, how to pay fares etc )
