Getting rid of poorly performing ones is probably terribly difficult. Having fewer WGs would help for many things, including scheduling. But, given the tendacy to having more WGs, with extremely narrow focus, means that we need a lot more good WG chairs than we have.
I agree. I don't envy AD's even a little bit. It's thankless. That is a structural problem.
