You say "new" as if it were inherently a Good Thing.  It's not. 

New is inherently a Good Thing.

This is a technology organization and I was proposing to develop a new technology and asking for input. At this point I am designing a new capability and asking people what features they would want if they were to use it.

I am not proposing people use the system because it doesn't exist yet. I am asking questions now because it will be much harder to change things once something is built.
