Do we really need another systemd thread?

Yes, because Fedora has failed to discuss system and systemd development in
advance before they had been deployed. Instead Fedora was confronted with
completed facts.

This is so far from the truth… astounding.
Starting with
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/systemd (4 years ago),
to the really long discussions on -devel.

If you read this page, you'd notice this proposal doesn't have much to do with what systemd has evolved into today and the impact systemd has had and still has on Fedora (bugs, defects, system unreliability).

Like other have said, if people had known today's systemd in advance, they likely would not have welcomed it.

Also I do not recall any lengthy discussions on systemd when it was proposed. It was just one of these "Feature"-announcement pages hardly anybody reads. I recall later discussions when systemd became feature bloated and when controversial details gradually surfaced (TmpOnTmpFS, UsrMov, journalctl, packaging issues etc.).

That said: I have to repeat my mantra. Fedora's systemd integration needs a brake to consolidate systemd and to stabilize the distro.
