I rather suspect this is not the case. I don't think anyone is testing
using gnome-control-center outside of GNOME, and if I tried it and filed
a bunch of bugs, I'm not sure they'd get much attention. For a start,
setting anything system-wide from g-c-c depends heavily on PolicyKit,
and I'm not sure it's been tested in any situation but GNOME. Sure, it
ought to just use whatever PK stuff is in the environment it's in. Do
you expect that will actually work flawlessly? I don't. :)
