It's the same problem. You should be able to access a USB stick. There a script for doing that too. Otherwise the key has to kept in the initrd file. As has been said; that's not a lot of use - it's a bit like taping the key to a padlock. However if that's what you want to do just copy the file into the initrd. If you use yaird you pop the file into a directory - need to check man page for yaird. Then you need to alter /etc/yaird/Template.cfg to add the -d <keyfile> to the cryptsetup call. Easy peasy!
