Hello
All,
Please
find below a brief
summary of the
progress Collabora has
made last week.

Best regards,
- SPEC-4485 (Running flutter as regular apps on top of other shell client (qt homescreen) - alongside recipe adjustments to make this work, the flutter embedder (ivi-homescreen) requires some further changes to make to allow the flutter embedder run side by side with qt shell client. One is about renaming it to something more reasonable (running multiple instances of it after all) and one is about correcting the embedder to avoid an bind to the agl-shell protocol in all situations. Both of these have corresponding MRs for upstream. A further update shows that the JSON configuration file ignores some general entries so that requires some further fixes. SPEC-3906 (Investigate split surface types by making use xdg-shell protocol) - Minor re-work requires to address some upstream comments. Had a small detour to draw up some plans on how to update the protocol, also in connection with SPEC-4485. The implication is that the role types from the agl-shell-desktop protocol will be removed and migrated to the main protocol extension. Some of the these roles will be handled directly by libweston-desktop library (such as split and fullscreen) while others will have to rely on the shell client, but that's for another SPEC to handle.
- SPEC-4471 (netboot with h3ulcb/r-car stuck in block nbd0: Possible stuck request) - been experiementing with other images and platforms and it seems this is actually related to a systemd update. A work-around is in place to allow going over this issue, but investigation is needed to confirm.
- gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/c/AGL/meta-agl-devel/+/27782, this unties agl-image-platform to run again with latest ivi-homescreen changes.
