Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora has made last week.
Weston/Wayland
- SPEC-4319 (Agl compositor exists with 255 err code when restarting). Possibly there are two issues conflated into one: logind-launcher returning -1 (can't reproduce using libseat launcher) due to an issue/bug into the launcher, and systemd-logind issue: the compositor is not stopped/sent SIGTERM yet it is still issueing page flips for the DRM node without proper permissions (no longer DRM master). So shutting down sequence should be that the compositor is stoppped before deactivation of session;
- SPEC-3906 (Investigate split surface types by making use xdg-shell protocol) - investigation into missing bits needed for this to work; it requires a few coordinated changes: libweston to support tile orientation, and wayland-protocols to include a request which clients can issue on their own, similar to set_fullscreen/set_maximized. Either that or a extension/interface to do instead. Looking into doing some initial mock-ups to see how these all work together.
- SPEC-4471 (netboot with h3ulcb/r-car stuck in block nbd0: Possible stuck request) - Netboot issue with h3ulcb platform. Minor investigation just to see if these happens on other platforms to seems to be related to h3ulcb.
