Hello everybody, i have problems by installing redhat 7.3 or 8.0 on my raid. I have the MSI 845 ULTRA /MS-6398/ mainboard with Promise raid controller PDC20276 on board. The Problem is when i install redhat 7.2 i add the latest driver from promise and i get another harddisk called sda. This is the scsi emulation of the disk array. So far no problem. I install lilo as bootloader etc. But after restart I get the following message: VFS: Cannot open boot device "801" or 08:01 Please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:01 I hope that some of you know this problem and help me with a solution.
