Granted, two bug reports are not much, but given the scale of the
breakage (plasma, activities, randr), those who will be unlucky enough
to hit the issues both Reindl and I experienced, will have a
completely broken KDE desktop, with no fix or way to circumvent these
issues.
I got a little confused reading through your updates... are you saying that from an empty account
you are still having issues?
