May be switching to > ktp is an option? ktp is currently a joke compared to kopete and since it does *not* minimize to systray at all no wonder that this does not get triggered, but that's one point more which makes it unuseable beside the fact it refuses to connect to FB-chat and our own jabber-server and even if - kopete is *not* the only application which triggers the behavior, i use the systray *heavily* and having open a MPD client which shows song-progress and so on in the systray you get the same after a few hours and the more apllications are in the systray the worser it gets
