it are not really the apps and there is nothing which shows
really memory, but this me be masked somewhere in cache
since there are also virtual machines having their RAM masked
in "cache" if i look at "free -m"

if have no real idea what it is

but seeing yesterday the behavior after a hour with the
spinning wheel from the kopete-transfer in the systray
made it very clear that heavy use of the systray makes
KDE *terrible* slow after some hours which must not happen
on this type of power-machine :-(

this happens in my usecase since years on any sort of machine
and made notebooks often terrible to use at all
