/root/ is the wrong place to keep anything that needs to be accessed by
other things on the system. sysconfig is used to represent how things
have been configured, eg. /etc/sysconfig/kernel,
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/* so that other programs can pick up that
information and use it.
