I am using a PS/2 mouse. The XF86Config:
Section "InputDevice" Driver "mouse" Identifier "Mouse[1]" Option "ButtonNumber" "2" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "Name" "Autodetection" Option "Protocol" "ps/2" Option "Vendor" "Sysp" EndSection
I found several postings related to gpm, and so based on a comment in one of the SuSe forums, I did a chmod 644 on the gpm program, in an attempt to keep it from starting/running. Previously, I also switched out of the gui (ctl+alt+F1) and stopped the gpm process, went back to the gui (ctl+alt+f7) and still encountered the same problem.
I viewed the /var/log/XFree86.0.log and it says that the version number is 4.3.99 (4.4.0 RC2) .
Any suggestions?
