No screens found generally indicates that you don't have a working resolution & color depth combination for your setup. (monitor, video card and driver) In your specific case, I'm guessing that you don't know that the vesa driver only supports 800x600 resolution with a 24 bpp color depth max. If this isn't helpful then please send your log file to the list.
