Run xdpyinfo while X in running. The version will be displayed along
with other info.

OR (if X wont run)

vi the contents of the X log in /var/adm/XFree86.[screen#].log

OR

enter X -version at the command line.

Yes.

I dont run Mandrake, but from what I know of it, there should be a full
package with all the files you need at the Mandrake site.
