RE: XF86Config problems

What about laptops, I have a dell inspiron 8000 and really messed up X,
now I get lines all over also.  What is the minimum setting there?

I ALWAYS use Xconfigurator, and start with custom monitor, 800x600 60Hz,

and work up from there.
