Is there a way to change the default X background, the wire mesh ugly thing that comes up with you first start the server? on my LCD screen it is really hideous, and even though its only for 2-5 seconds, it is really really annoying. Is it possible to set it to a solid color? I am using kdm if that makes a difference.
