Hello,
I'm wondering what I can do to get xfree86 4.2 running on this machine?
It is a Compaq LTE 5400 laptop. Below is my /proc/pci output, it states
that this laptop uses a Cirrus Logic CL7543 video chip, but I have read
that this machine uses a CL7548, which is supported in XF 4.2 ... altho
the CL7543 is not, and only supported in XF 3.3.6 ...
My question is, how hard would it be to tweak the Cirrus Logic CL7543
drivers from 3.3.6 to 4.2? Maybe this is a loaded question, but I do have
some C experience, and can normally figure things out, any ideas at all
would be certinly appearciated! THanks!
