Description of 1K Session *The magmatic degassing process in depth causes a wide variety of fluid emissions on surface, which are emitted during explosive episodes (e.g. gas, ash and aerosols) or quiescence periods (e.g. fumarolic activity, soil diffuse degassing) in areas associated with active volcanoes and geothermal systems. The study of fluid geochemistry will determine the origin and evolution of fluids in these systems, as well as provide important information about the volcanic hazard assessment and improve the understanding of magmatic-hydrothermal processes. This session is aimed at students, professionals and technicians who work or have worked in fluid geochemistry in volcanic and hydrothermal systems in Latin America. Contributions to the development of direct sampling techniques, remote measurements, interpretation of geochemical data, modeling studies of degassing and estimation of geothermal potential based exclusively on geochemical data are welcome.* The deadline for submission of abstracts is May 3, 2019. El estudio de la geoquÃmica de fluidos permitirá determinar el origen y evolución de los fluidos asociados a estos sistemas, además de entregar información importante acerca de la evaluación del peligro volcánico asociado y mejorar el entendimiento de los procesos relacionados con los fluidos magmáticos e hidrotermales.
