*****************************************************************************************************
Thursday, December 18 at 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM in Salons 3-4 of the Marriott Marquis
The Krafla Magma Drilling Project (KMDP) is an International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP) activity proposed to obtain maximum scientific return from the discovery of a rhyolite magma body at 2-km depth beneath Krafla Caldera, Iceland. With support from ICDP and Landsvirkjun Power Co., 49 scientists and engineers participated in a workshop at Krafla during September 15 to 19 to plan the project. KMDP will host a presentation and discussion of results of the workshop and subsequent planning at AGU. Anyone interested in learning about and discussing scientific and technological opportunities associated with KMDP is welcome.
