5TH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON COLLAPSE CALDERAS,

DECEMBER 7-11, 2014

TAUPO, NEW ZEALAND

WITH A THEME OF ‘CALDERA VOLCANISM AND SOCIETY’

 

FINAL REMINDER

 

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted an Abstract to the above Workshop (originally due April 30th). We are aware however of some people who have indicated they are keen to attend, but have not yet submitted an Abstract. To accommodate them, we have extended the Abstract deadline to May 15th. This is a final reminder.

 

SUBMISSION

 

Submit one or more abstracts (<300 words) in Times New Roman, font 12, 1.5 spaced, containing: title (bold), authors, affiliations, email addresses and abstract text. Please specify the scheduled theme, as well as any oral/poster preference.

 

There will be four broad themes: 1. Physical Setting and Volcanology (including: volcano-tectonic setting, formation, structure, deposits; eruption processes; subsidence): 2. Magma processes (including: anatomy of plutonic magma systems; plutonic/volcanic relationships); 3. Resources related to calderas (including: geothermal activity; mineralisation; water; environmental issues); 4. Unrest (including: timescales of caldera formation; monitoring techniques; the effects of eruptions on infrastructure).
